Flint Falcons basketball team participated in a (4A) tournament in San Antonio, TX. We took home 3rd place. This was a great experience and a good accomplishment considering we are a 1A size school. I am very proud of my boys.
The biggest and best thing that we took away from the whole trip was thanking God for the opportunity to play. Our first game in the tournament we were arguing on the court with each other and making simple mistakes. After that game we had a very long talk in the locker room about who we are playing for. Once the team realized that we play for Christ, we started praying. "Dear God, thank you... thank you... THANK YOU!, Amen!" Before every game and in every time-out: "THANK YOU, God, Amen!"
You have no idea how much weight was lifted off our shoulders immediately. Truly amazing!
We won the rest of our games.

"Thank you, God, Amen!"
We had to check out the Alamo and Mission San Juan while in San Antonio. We also went downtown at night for a guided ghost walk tour (spooky), which turned out to be a sneaky way to have a history lesson.
I am so glad I had the opportunity to take my boys down to San Antonio. It was a very cool experience for us. I know they will remember this the rest of their lives.

Varsity Boys Win 65-63 Over Hill School
We had a good start to our season on Tuesday night against one of our rival schools (Hill School of Fort Worth). We walked away with the win, but it was a very close game, 65-63. Jamison Watters (#0) was awarded the "Player of the Game". He played a great game for us and ended up with a triple double. He put the team on his back when the game was on the line at the end of the game. His defense was magnificent! He tied a school record with 10 steals.

Teamwork in Stewardship Class
I start the lesson by teaching it on the board to the class and have a few examples written for the student to do on their own. After a few minutes I have students come up to the board and answer the question. Once the student is comfortable with the types of problems in that lesson, I have them do four worksheets and a test.
Scotty, Hunter, and LaDarius are working together on a word problem about percentages and fees in Stewardship.

Volleyball
Our
girls are having a wonderful start to the volleyball season! We have
not won a match yet, but wonderful none the less. This is our first year
to have volleyball at Flint, and most of the girls have never played
before. The Lady Falcons have stepped up their level of play and are
being very competitive in district play. Wear your Flint falcon gear and come support us!
