Remember The Alamo!

Flint Falcons basketball team participated in a (4A) tournament in San Antonio, TX. We took home 3rd place. This was a great experience and a good accomplishment considering we are a 1A size school. I am very proud of my boys.
The biggest and best thing that we took away from the whole trip was thanking God for the opportunity to play. Our first game in the tournament we were arguing on the court with each other and making simple mistakes. After that game we had a very long talk in the locker room about who we are playing for. Once the team realized that we play for Christ, we started praying. "Dear God, thank you... thank you... THANK YOU!, Amen!" Before every game and in every time-out: "THANK YOU, God, Amen!"
You have no idea how much weight was lifted off our shoulders immediately. Truly amazing!
We won the rest of our games.

65 Flint
48 River City

112 Flint
43 SA Cornerstone

LaDarius Lenard - 1st team All-Tournament
Hunter Bennett - 2nd team All-Tournament
Shawn Johnson, Jr - 2nd team All-Tournament
Jamison Watters - 2nd team All-Tournament

"Thank you, God, Amen!"

We had to check out the Alamo and Mission San Juan while in San Antonio. We also went downtown at night for a guided ghost walk tour (spooky), which turned out to be a sneaky way to have a history lesson.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to take my boys down to San Antonio. It was a very cool experience for us. I know they will remember this the rest of their lives.
